From May 20-22, Baker’s campus transforms into a hub of athletic exploration during our beloved Sneaker Week. This isn’t your typical PE class expansion—it’s a carefully curated experience that introduces students to new physical challenges and helps them discover hidden talents and interests.
The highlight of the visit was a special meeting with the distinguished Dr. Richard Morimoto, himself, who graciously welcomed our students. Dr. Morimoto engaged our students in an inspiring Q&A session, sharing his personal journey into science and offering insights into building a career in scientific research. His dedication to fostering scientific curiosity in young minds exemplifies the type of inspiration we aim to provide our students at Baker.
Amy Johnson, Executive Director of Neighborhood Parents Network, moderated a webinar on addressing academic anxiety in middle and high school. Schools discuss the importance of stress management, the role of schools in supporting students’ mental health, and the significance of executive functioning skills. Panelist schools included Baker Demonstration School, Sacred Heart, Bennett Day, Smart Love, Taft, and Whitney Young Magnet School.
