Baker Parent Organization (BPO)

At Baker we value partnering with parents in every way. We believe this partnership is what makes our community special. On this section of our website, you will find resources specifically designed to serve our parent population.

Baker Parent Organization (BPO)

Baker’s Parent Organization, commonly referred to as the BPO is a group of parents who volunteer their time to organize events and activities that bring parents and families together for community building, learning and to support the School’s goals. All parents are automatically part of the BPO as there are no membership fees.

The BPO is organized into three main committees where we welcome involvement from parents and guardians, as follows:

Community Connections – Organizes social events for  parents and families to connect outside of the School.

Service – Works to enrich the community by providing service opportunities aligned with the goals for the  year.

Communication – Provides communication to parents about BPO-organized events through room parents and the school bulletin. Organizes school outreach events in surrounding communities.

Each of these three committees has a task forces to help manage each activity.

2020-2021 Steering Committee

Chair – Laura Cinat
Community Connections Chair –  Hibo Mohamed
Service Learning Chairs – Rebecca Lewandowski and Corinne Rocca
Communication Chairs – Melani Bishop and Stacie Erck

Why Volunteer with the BPO?

Volunteering for the BPO is a great way to get more connected to the school community, network with parents, and learn more about Baker. It  provides the chance to meet new people, create new friendships and enjoy enrichment opportunities. Working together to build community, helps Baker become even more  vibrant . We would love to have you involved!
