Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.

Middle School students engaged in team work and experiential learning

From our founding and to this day, our approach is rooted in a simple, but powerful idea: an education should do more than help a child excel academically; it should prepare them to thrive throughout life, no matter how different the future may be.

While academic excellence is at our core, our hands-on, project based learning curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity, creation, and collaboration.  We integrate studies across disciplines in thematic units, enabling children to learn critical concepts through the lens of real-world experiences.

We believe that children should be treated as individuals and are capable of shaping their own learning. Our school culture is focused on creating an intrinsically-motivated student body of active citizens and critical thinkers, with a lifelong love of learning.

And we believe that a child’s success never has to come at the expense of losing what makes them unique. So from their very first day, Baker students are encouraged to proudly share all of the unique and wonderful things that make them who they are.
