Jill Reves
Math Teacher
I earned my BS in Mechanical Engineering at U.C. Berkeley… I’ve worked as a test engineer at the Southern California Gas Company, a utilities engineer at the Port of San Francisco, and a design engineer for the International Space Station.
I left there to work as the training director for a mountaineering and adventure travel company, Adventure 16, and that’s where my love of teaching was first sparked – climbing, backpacking, and mountaineering skills.
I have two girls who are the joy of my life, and I moved to Illinois to be close to the oldest who is an LCSW and just got married. The younger is working on wetland restoration and getting her PhD at UMass.
I love to bake (science!), cook, paint, and go find long walks in “”green”” spots I find on a map.
I lived in Massachusetts for 25 years, teaching math and science at Falmouth Academy for 23 years, and this is my first year in Chicago and at Baker!
