Prior to joining the Baker community five years ago, Patrick Dunafin taught in the Chicago Public Schools. When completing his teaching program at Michigan State University, Patrick won the Janet A. Wessel Award for Adapted Physical Education and served as a teaching assistant in the same area. Other work in and around the Lansing, Michigan area included coaching swimming for the Special Olympics, coaching varsity/junior varsity tennis and volleyball at various high schools, and instructing private and group tennis lessons at Court One Athletic Clubs. While at Baker, Patrick has coached flag football, basketball, and soccer. Other roles include lead advisor for student council and private swim instructor. Patrick is a current member of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) and National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE).
