Lizanne Wilson

Drama Teacher


Lizanne Wilson has worked for seventeen years as the Drama Specialist for K-8 students at Baker Demonstration School. Integrating drama into the core curriculum, co-teaching with classroom teachers and other specialists, and creating innovative middle school productions have helped to make the arts a centerpiece of a Baker education. She was the keynote speaker and guest presenter on “Drama and Critical Literacy” at UC Fresno for the Cesar Chavez Conference on Multiple Perspectives in the Classroom. She has given workshops for the International Multi-Cultural Literature Conference “Reading the World”, the National Association of Laboratory Schools, the National Council of Teachers of English, National Council for Social Studies, ISAACS, and the Illinois Theatre Association. A professional actress, singer, director and master teacher, Lizanne has been part of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis, the New Tuners Theatre, the Organic Theatre and the Drury Lane Theatre in Chicago.
