Kim Johns

Pre-Kindergarten Teacher


Kim Johns has been an early childhood educator since her sophomore year at Colorado State University, where she became a lead teacher in their campus-based early childhood program. Kim also taught preschool at the Auraria Metro campus in Denver before moving to the Chicago area. She taught toddlers and two-year olds at Baby Toddler Nursery in Evanston, during which time she earned the Evanston Teacher of the Year award. Kim has been an active member of the Chicago Association for the Education of Young Children and their Anti-Bias Commission, presenting at professional conferences on topics including toddler curricula, anti-bias curricula, and early literacy. Kim has had experience in both kindergarten and first-grade classrooms, and has taught pre-kindergarten at Truman College.
