Summertime was made for exploration.
At Baker, summer isn’t just a break — it’s an adventure! Our camp is designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and connection. Campers in PreK–6th grade dive into hands-on projects that explore the “why” and “how” behind the things they love, fueling their sense of wonder and passion for learning. Our 7th–9th graders return as Counselors-in-Training, taking on leadership roles that let them inspire younger campers while building confidence, teamwork, and a strong sense of community.

Camp Overview
Baker Summer Discovery Camp is where curiosity and adventure come to life! Designed for preschoolers (age 3+) through rising sixth graders, our camp takes place on the beautiful Baker Demonstration School campus in Wilmette—just north of Evanston on Sheridan Road. With a bright gym, indoor pool, maker lab, art studio, spacious fields, and playgrounds, plus easy access to Lake Michigan and nearby nature spots, there’s no shortage of places to explore. Campers engage in creativity, movement, and fun—featuring arts and crafts, swimming, outdoor games and sports, and “team time,” where campers chart their own adventures and build lasting friendships.
Camp runs from 8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m and includes weekly swimming, art and movement classes! On Fridays, 1st – 6th graders venture out on a walking trip to nearby Lighthouse Beach for time in the sand, sun and water, while our PreK and Kindergarteners enjoy fun swim and a water day out on the Baker Field!
Both Morning Care (7:30- 8:15am) and After Care (3:15-5:00pm) are available for those looking to extend their campers day.
