What is Wisdom & Wit: Baker Trivia Night?

Wisdom & Wit is a biennial fundraising event that brings the Baker community together for an evening of friendly competition, fun, and fundraising in our very own Baker Gymnasium. We provide the space and entertainment, and you bring the table decor, food and drink and Wisdom and Wit. It is a lighthearted evening of intellectual challenges, community-building, and an opportunity to support Baker Demonstration School through our silent auction and raffle and myriad of Sponsorship Opportunities. You can either assemble a complete team of 8, or we can help you connect to others to form a team.
Trivia night kicks-off with table setup where you’ll have time to arrange food and decorations. After a social hour of eating and mingling, the trivia competition begins! Teams will answer questions in two main rounds corresponding to our theme: Past, Present, and Future. We’ll have breaks for refreshments and our silent auction, where you’ll have a chance to bid on exciting packages and experiences. The evening culminates with awards for both trivia champions and best-dressed tables.

What is this year's theme?

Baker Time Machine: Past, Present & Future” – Dress in costume and decorate your table representing your favorite historical era, current trends, or futuristic visions. Tables can select specific time periods to represent, from ancient civilizations to sci-fi futures!
Table Guidance for Participants:

how does seating work? What about food and Drink?

Attendees will sit at tables of 8 for the dinner, trivia competition, and auction. This will be your trivia team! You can gather friends to fill a table or let the Trivia Night committee place you at a table. We’ll have tables organized by grade level and interests, so you’ll have connections with your tablemates. You can indicate seating preferences when you register.
BYOF – Bring your own food and drinks. You are welcome to coordinate with your tablemates to create a potluck spread!
We provide tablecloths for a blank slate. You and your tablemates bring the rest. Consider coordinating basic food/drink supplies such as plates, cups, and napkins and any servingware needed. If possible, please be waste conscious in bringing supplies.
While Costumes and table decorating are encouraged, it is not mandatory to attend the event. We are thrilled to have you all in our presence!

Baker Time Capsule” Dedication: $50 : We are creating a Baker Time Capsule for our 20th year celebration. You will be able to contribute a written item in the time capsule in honor of someone of your choosing (ie, your student, family, faculty etc).

What does trivia night fundraise for and how can i be a sponsor?

This year, proceeds from Trivia Night will support Baker Demonstration School Financial Aid and Baker Programming such as enhanced field trips, classroom supplies and our new Math Program! Our goal is to raise $15,000 to enhance the educational experience for all students.
