Ella Fies

Grad Year: 2011

Since graduating from ETHS, Ella went on to Elon University in North Carolina. She majored in human services studies and minored in women/gender/sexuality studies, psychology, and criminal justice studies. Ella studied abroad for a summer in Paris, a semester in Indonesia, and did a winter term in India. She says she loved Elon and would recommend it as an institution to anyone applying for college. Ella is currently a Master of Social Work candidate at Columbia School of Social Work. Ella said of her work, “I am deeply passionate about effecting sustainable and system change in our juvenile justice system.” 

Levi Goldman

Grad Year: 2014

While in High School, Levi worked for The Fort Collins Police Explorers, a unique program that was essentially an internship, where he was deeply involved in local law enforcement. He began a criminal justice degree, but decided to put his studies on hold to accept a full time position with Wyoming DOC (Department of Corrections). He lives in Rawlins, WY. 

Lia Nelson

Grad Year: 2013

Lia (she/her) is graduated from the University of Rochester in 2021 with a degree in Classics and minor in dance. While at University of Rochester, she worked as the Classics Department Peer Advisor, as a Latin and Ancient Greek tutor at the university’s Language Center, and studied abroad in Rome and Athens. She also pursued a certificate in museum studies from Northwestern University. Lia is a dancer, choreographer, and President of the U of R Ballet Performance Group and is a member of the Strong Jugglers, a circus arts club. Lia also works with the following organizations: Turning Points Resource Center, which assists currently and formerly incarcerated individuals and their loved ones; the Center for Community Alternatives, a group dedicated to decarceration, prison abolition, and legislative policy advocacy; and the Rochester Education Justice Initiative, which teaches courses to incarcerated individuals at the Groveland Correctional Facility so they can earn degrees while serving their sentences. Lia is a staff paralegal at Legal Assistance of Western New York, Inc. (LawNY)

Elsa Harbison

Grad Year: 2015

After graduating from ETHS, Elsa attended St. Olaf College, where she is a junior. She chose St. Olaf because the school has a licensure path for students pursuing careers in education, a Latin language program and a robust choir program. Along with studying English and education, she works on campus as an admissions fellow, giving campus tours and connecting with prospective students. During her univeristy’s J-Term (4-week sessions in January) she studied in Hawaii and she wills study abroad in Kenya for the remainder of the school year. In Hawaii, Elsa will be worked with high school students in an urban Honolulu school. In Kenya, she will be studying public health and completing independent research. In her senior year, she plans to student teach and continue giving tours around campus.

Eva Darrow

Grad Year: 2014

Eva is a junior at Loyola University Chicago, majoring in psychology with a double minor in neuroscience and sociology. She tutors in statistics and will also tutor in calculus, neuroscience, and psychology courses. She just completed an internship at Loyola’s tutoring center as a data analyst. Currently, she interns at an integrative psychiatry practice, functioning as an administrative assistant. In her free time, Eva studies the cello with Richard Hirschl, a member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Looking forward, she intends to pursue a graduate degree in neuropsychology. 

Leah Cooke

Grad Year: 2012

Leah graduated from Shimer College with a Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. During her gap year she worked for Americorps and was placed in the REAP program in Madison, WI. REAP is a farm-to-school program that teaches kids how to grow and prepare their own food. She was the food service manager at the Isthmus Montessori School in Madison for the 2019-2020 school year.
